IMPA London 2012

About IMPA London

The International Maritime Purchasing Association (IMPA) represents the interests of the purchasing profession within shipping, promoting close cooperation and understanding between buyers and suppliers in the industry.

IMPA was established in 1978 and in 30 years has grown to represent more than 200 members worldwide. Its annual conference and exhibition, IMPA London, is the leading event of its kind in the world, attracting visitors from all four continents.

It is an event where people meet, where new connections are made and where deals are done. It’s also where new friends are made and where maritime professionals come together to network, learn and debate the latest issues central to the industry.

Since its inception 16 years ago the event has grown enormously, growth that this year sees IMPA London move to the QEII Conference Centre from Kensington Town Hall.

The move ensures that IMPA continues to deliver value for its exhibitors, visitors and delegates, fostering a relaxed, professional environment that has been developed over the years.

Our new venue has also given rise to a number of new initiatives and ensures that we are able to meet the demands of the industry as well as attract new visitors and exhibitors each year.

If you’ve not attended IMPA London before you can expect a relaxed, comfortable and friendly atmosphere that is bustling with activity. New product launches, latest service developments, best practice, networking, workshops, seminars, meetings are all part of the IMPA London programme.

The event finale this year will take the format of an exhibitor sporting dinner held on the banks of the river Thames at the OXO 2 building.

Make sure you join THE Maritime PURCHASING and SUPPLY event – It’s simply not to be missed!

New ideas and initiatives

Over recent years several companies, including ship owners and managers, have asked to arrange board meetings, product launches, workshops and company gatherings alongside IMPA’s annual event – We are pleased to say that making the move to the QEII Centre means that we can encourage this sort of initiative.

We will also be looking to expand the conference programme with a greater number of technical briefings, knowledge exchange sessions and networking opportunities that run concurrently with the exhibition. We will be working with other industry partners to deliver events and activities that we hope will extend the reach and interest of the event to the largest number of people.

With these initiatives, together with a comprehensive and extensive marketing programme, we hope to move the event to another level and subsequently deliver maximum value for our exhibitors.

We recognise the tremendous support and input that our VIP customers - our exhibitors - give in helping to make the IMPA event a success and we are already taking steps to ensure that the service we offer will be at the highest level. We will provide a greater number of stands at the new venue, which in turn will attract more visitors, and we hope that exhibitors will showcase innovation at IMPA 2012.

Together, with your support we will make this exhibition and conference a highly successful and ultimately high-value event for your business.

Our main objective is to maintain the special feel of the annual IMPA event whilst expanding the opportunities available for our exhibitors to promote their businesses. Our strategy is to continue to raise IMPA’s profile and role in the industry and to build on the programme that IMPA has firmly established as its foundation philosophy – Network, Learn, Debate.
