Latin American Alliance confirms IMPA London appearance
The Latin American Alliance of Ship Suppliers will exhibit at IMPA London for the first time this year, a move which further enhances the global reach of the UK’s leading maritime event.
The group, which represents the interests of shipping companies from Panama, Venezuela, Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Peru, has confirmed it will take part with one company from each country promoting the ports of Panama and South America.
‘This is our first experience as exhibitors, but not as visitors’ said Roxana Villamonte of Apollo Service, a Peruvian company that will participate at IMPA as part of the alliance’s involvement.
‘Our main goal is to promote the Latin American ports. The six companies that are part of the Latin American Ship Supplier Alliance are the top ship supplier companies in their countries’ she added. ‘They have many years experience and are internationally positioned with high-quality products and services.’
Vilamonte also confirmed that the Alliance would be hoping to cement its reputation in Europe while at IMPA, promoting its reliability, experience and infrastructure.
The news represents a significant step for IMPA, which has always championed the growth and prosperity of the Latin American market, not least because it allows visitors and delegates to meet with such an alliance at IMPA London for the first time.
Commenting on the arrival of the South Americans, Event Director Will Bixby said:
‘This is the first time that the Latin American Alliance of Ship Suppliers has taken an exhibition booth at IMPA and we are delighted to welcome them to London in September.
‘IMPA is always looking to grow it's membership and we hope the presence of the Alliance will enable us to work together in the future to develop IMPA in the region.
‘This region has seen an impressive growth in recent years and more shipowners are seeing vessels trading in the region so to be able to meet suppliers and build new relationships offers a major time saving benefit.
‘They will be bringing a delegation from all the countries involved and I am sure they will be able to answer many questions making it easier for purchasers with vessels operating in the region.’
